your stay on Mayne you will probably see seals, sea lions, orcas, otters,
eagles, an abundance of shore and migratory birds and entire families of
docile deer! The island is mainly forested, but several organic farms
offer a range of goods from jams and jellies to sheep skins. Accessing
diverse sand and pebble beaches provides swimming and beach combing
opportunities. Our waters are exceptionally clean and clear, great for
diving, kayaking, canoeing and boating. Mayne’s quiet country roads
invite walkers and cyclists and our forest trails beckon hikers. Our
island is home to many talented artists and crafts people offering their
wares in shops and galleries and from their own studios. |

amenities in Miners Bay village include two grocery stores, bakery, health
food store, gas station and post office. A summer visit to Mayne’s
Saturday morning Farmers’ Market is a must, and throughout the entire
year you are invited to partake in a variety of dining experiences. |
